Dow has announced that it will showcase its expanded portfolio of packaging technologies and services at Interpack 2020, which takes place in Dusseldorf, Germany, from May 7-13. Dow will present products to help the industry transition to a circular economy, support the value chain in achieving sustainability goals, enable greater collaboration, and accelerate the delivery of new technologies to the market.

Dow will present more than 40 prototypes, enabled by Pack Studios, showcasing how design for recyclability is becoming a reality for a variety of applications including:

  • Food and specialty packaging to deliver enhanced product protection and packaging performance using PE-based structures and renewable feedstocks.
  • Industrial and consumer packaging for optimal collation shrink and stretch wrap.
  • Cosmetics packaging using recycled contents and labeling solutions for the packaging market
Dow will also exhibit products for lighter, higher performance, as well as new designs for the recyclability of meat packaging. A key focus will be achieving better preservation in food packaging.

Dow has also expanded and enhanced its Pack Studios collaborative network. At Interpack, Dow will introduce new Pack Studios capabilities, including a blown-film production center, a center of excellence dedicated to load stability sproducts for safer handling and transportation, and the latest developments in digital collaboration to help industry assess packaging performance in real time.

Joint efforts by Dow and packaging partners will be demonstrated live at Interpack 2020 with preferred OEMs running Dow’s new PE-based packaging materials on their machines. Select converters will also showcase a range of prototypes enabled by Dow technologies from design for recyclability to bio-based PE and lighter materials.
